FabLab Nerve Centre and Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership have launched an innovative new cross community project (WatYAT)  aimed at young people from the Waterside area who are interested in art and technology the opportunity to develop projects under the guidance of specialist facilitators and expert FabLab staff.

Using the technology available within the Lab, participants will engage in digital fabrication of their own designs, and in the process, gain valuable transferable skills in areas such as; critical thinkong, teamwork, confidence, communication, self-esteem and project planning.

The project will help to connect the participants to their neighbourhood, which will in turn encourage them to value and promote their respective neighbourhoods.

WatYAT will remove barriers to participation and target yong people with low levels of engagement in the Arts, and will attempt to develop a shared space / outlook amongst participants.
